and my cry is to the children of man.
5 O simple ones, learn prudence;
O fools, learn sense.
6 Hear, for I will speak noble things,
and from my lips will come what is right,
7 for my mouth will utter truth;
wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8 All the words of my mouth are righteous;
there is nothing twisted or crooked in them.
9 They are all straight to him who understands,

10 Take my instruction instead of silver,

the TRIP** method): Gracious and almighty
Father, thank you for the incarnation of wisdom: your Son, Jesus Christ. In him is
righteousness and truth. Repent me and
my brothers and sisters of not listening to him… for to do so is death. Each day, tune our ears and hearts to him
whose word is more precious than silver or choice gold… for then we find what
you have already given us in him: true life.
I ask this through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father almighty, creator of
heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He
was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He
descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the
living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian
church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of
the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

people for centuries.
**The T.R.I.P. approach to prayer is based on the way Martin
Luther prayed and taught others to pray. It was later developed by Walter and Ingrid
Trobisch and then adapted by Mount Carmel Ministries (Alexandria , MN

Reading a biblical text and then applying this method gives
one a sound, simple way to form one’s prayers...not to mention that it helps
one learn how to faithfully reflect on God’s Word and talk to God.
